Justice Served as Boise Couple Found Guilty of Trying to Steal Elderly Woman’s Estate

It’s sad that so often vulnerable older Americans become targets for scammers and criminals. While these crimes are reprehensible, they happen far too often.

Recently Boise couple James and Jessica Dougherty plead guilty to fraud and obstruction of justice charges.

The case involved the couple trying to steal the woman’s life savings and her 46-acre ranch through fraud.

Taking advantage of the woman’s deteriorating health, James was able to secure power of attorney, which he used in an attempt to take everything the woman had.

Fortunately, the criminals were arrested and charged for their despicable actions. Sentencing is set for April. Read the full story here.
