Lionel Duquette is one of Maine’s oldest World War Two veterans. Having just hit a milestone birthday, it’s time to celebrate.

Duquette enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1942. over the next three years, he served as a member of an anti-aircraft unit in the U.S. Army Coast Artillery Corps.

Duquette served in several European countries and was honorably discharged in 1946 after winning multiple awards and earning the rank of corporal.

This past weekend Lionel gathered with friends and family in his hometown to celebrate his 102nd birthday. Read more about the celebration here.
