3 Tips to Fight Loneliness During Retirement

Loneliness is a serious health epidemic that impacts millions of people. Isolation and lack of community involvement can lead to serious mental, emotional, and even physical problems.

For seniors, the risks are higher. Older populations are more likely to experience isolation due to not working full-time, and having fewer interactions with others. Fox News recently shared three tips to combat loneliness in retirement.

  • Lean on Family and friends – Retirement can make a person feel very alone, especially after losing a spouse. When things feel tough, reach out to family or old friends.
  • Stay involved socially – Volunteering or remaining involved in clubs and social groups can make a significant difference for seniors.
  • Embrace technology – It can be hard to connect with family and friends when miles separate us. The good news is that video calls and other modern technology allow us to connect over great distances.

These are some general tips for dealing with loneliness in retirement. Read the full Fox News article here.
