This Valentine’s weekend, Washington’s Museum at Keewaydin invites guests to experience a heartwarming journey through time. On Saturday, February 15, the museum will host a special event featuring a unique storytelling session from 2-3 p.m. at 205 West Keewaydin Drive.
The highlight of the event will be a touching presentation by the son of Walt Lewis, who will share the enduring love story of his parents through the letters they exchanged in the 1940s. These cherished letters offer a glimpse into a different era—one where love was expressed through carefully crafted words on paper, bridging distance and time.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore these deeply personal correspondences, gaining both a historical and emotional perspective on love and communication from the past. This special event is a beautiful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day while also appreciating the art of letter-writing and its role in preserving love stories across generations.
The Museum at Keewaydin encourages community members to come and share in this celebration of love and history. Don’t miss this opportunity to step back in time and experience a romance told through the words of those who lived it.
We are working hard to give back to members of the greatest generation who gave so much during WWII and the Korean War. Learn more about what we are doing here.
